At the National Assembly

DEBATE AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, SUBMISSION OF ACTION PLANS

On 9 May, Mr. Robert Tremblay, Director of Educational Services of the Quebec National Assembly welcomed the participants and chaired a debate with:

  • Gerry Sklavounos, parliamentary deputy to the Minister for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Parks
  • Simon‐Pierre Diamond, official opposition spokesperson for sustainable development and the environment
  • Denis Trottier, second opposition group spokesperson for national water policy

Three delegates from Quebec and two from abroad were selected to participate in the debate. As the questions had been formulated by the groups the day before, the delegates were each able to ask the three MPs a question to do with various environmental issues. As in a real parliamentary debate, each MP was allowed two minutes to give a response and delegates had the opportunity to ask another question is not satisfied with the answer.

he action plans written by the young people were officially submitted to Mr. Tremblay as proof of the youths' commitment to water courses in their regions.
